“That night, Srila Prabhupada called me. I was attending Srila Prabhupada – actually one of us used to always be with Srila Prabhupada for two hours. My shift was 12am-2am. So it must have been around 1am. Srila Prabhupada called me, and told me: “The time has come for me to leave this planet, therefore you should make arrangement to take me to Vrindavan immediately.” He wanted to leave his body in Vrindavan. I was completely shocked, and immediately ran downstairs to wake up Tamal Krishna Maharaj.”

This is the day that marks Lord Ramachandra’s return to Ayodhya after He defeated Ravana and rescued Sita. The whole city was lit up with lamps to receive the return of the glorious prince, the Supreme Personality of Godhead.
Lord Ramachandra’s victory over Ravana marks the victory of the Supreme Personality of Godhead over demoniac influence, the victory of good over e
vil. We are the followers of Lord Ramachandra – Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Therefore we should always rest assured that He will not only give us protection but also that all our endeavours to spread His glories will be blessed with success.
Now that we have found the shelter of His lotus feet, for us there should not be anything to worry about. That shelter is the source of all auspiciousness. Let the Lord’s mercy be abundantly showered upon you, and in response please try to dedicate yourself in His service to the best of your ability.
I wish you and your loved ones all the best on this auspicious day.
